John Butler Trio - Spring To Come
Directed and produced for the fourth single from John Butler Trio's album Flesh & Blood, Spring To Come combines intricate stop-motion animation with the expressive illustrations of Melbourne artist Snip Green to create a handcrafted visual interpretation of the song.
Over hundreds of hours, thousands of tiny movements brought each illustrated element to life, transforming static artwork into a richly textured animated world. The film blends traditional paper animation, illustration and stop-motion techniques to reflect the warmth, optimism and organic energy of the music.
The official music video premiered in 2014 and marked a collaboration with one of Australia's most celebrated independent artists, further establishing Dropbear's reputation for distinctive handcrafted animation.
